Fans going in to watch the latest Matthew Vaughn movie are wondering whether there is an Argylle post-credits scene and if so, how many end-credits scenes there are. Hereâs all you need to know. Â
Is there a post-credits or end-credits scene in Argylle?
Yes, there is one end-credits scene in Argylle which comes in as a mid-credits sequence.
Post-credits scenes have become the usual norm of blockbusters that tease future sequels and Argylle follows that trend. As the credits begin to roll, you donât need to wait until the very end because there is no âpost-creditsâ scene.
There is just one sequence that plays out after the initial credits are done as a mid-credits scene. It sets up the future of the franchise by teasing a prequel to the film. But whether the prequel called âArgylle: Book One â The Movieâ will happen remains to be seen.
After a screening of Argylle in London, Vaughn told Polygon that the Argylle prequel will depend upon the audience. When asked about getting a greenlight for it, he said:
âThat would be nice, but thatâs up to the audience, itâs not up to us. The plan â touch wood, touch wood â would be Book One, which is written and selling. The book didnât write itself, you know. [âŠ] Itâs a really good book.â
As Vaughn said, this film will adapt the first Argylle book written by Elly Conway. But the movie is yet to be confirmed.
The official synopsis of Argylle reads:
âIn the film, Elly Conway is a reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie. But when the plots of Ellyâs fictional booksâwhich center on secret agent Argylle and his mission to unravel a global spy syndicateâbegin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, quiet evenings at home become a thing of the past. Accompanied by Aiden (Rockwell), a cat-allergic spy, Elly (carrying Alfie in her backpack) races across the world to stay one step ahead of the killers as the line between Ellyâs fictional world and her real one begins to blur.â
