This fantasy anime is based on the namesake Japanese light novel series written by Ryūta Kijima and illustrated by Sando. The plot revolves around Rud, the shielder or tank of the hero’s party. Being extremely good at his job, he has acquired a defense stat of 9999. He doesn’t necessarily seek Fame and fortune but raids dungeons in search of a cure for his ailing sister. After the hero, Kyglas, throws him out of the group, believing that his abilities are useless, Rud encounters a girl who tells him the truth about his powers.

“Rud, a shielder with a defense stat of 9999, serves as a tank for the Hero’s Party as they carry out raids in labyrinths. When the tyrannical hero suddenly kicks him out of the party, saying his skill is “useless,” Rud makes his way back to his hometown.
