American Fiction revolves around Thelonious “Monk” Ellison, a disgruntled author and English Professor. Frustrated with his stale career, Ellison writes a satirical novel about the publishing world under a pseudonym. However, much to his surprise, it becomes a success, forcing him to delve deep into the identity he created for himself.
