Lessons in Chemistry was developed by Lee Eisenberg from the namesake 2022 novel by Bonnie Garmus. It stars Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson as Elizabeth Zott, a chemist who loses her romantic partner in a tragic accident before finding out that she is pregnant. In the ’60s, she lost her job and began hosting a chemistry-based cooking show.
The official synopsis for Lessons in Chemistry reads:
“In the 1950s, Elizabeth Zott’s dream of being a scientist is challenged by a society that says women belong in the domestic sphere. She accepts a job on a cooking show and sets out to teach a nation of overlooked housewives way more than recipes.“
