The possibility of a release date for The Nun III arriving soon is currently on the minds of fans of the Conjuring Universe, even though The Nun II is still scaring audiences.
Here’s all The Nun III release date information we know so far, and all the details on when it is coming out.
Is there a The Nun III release date?
The Nun III currently does not have a release date at the time of writing, as it has not yet been officially announced. However, The Nun III will not likely come out at least until after The Conjuring: Last Rites which will likely arrive in 2025.
Fans will likely have to wait for a long time, at least until 2027 or 2028 for The Nun III. This is because of the pattern of each installment of The Nun franchise coming out after each installment of The Conjuring franchise. For instance, 2018’s The Nun came out after The Conjuring 2, and The Nun II came out after The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
The 2027 and 2028 dates are estimates based on the information we have at the time of this writing.
At the moment, nothing is known about the cast of The Nun III. However, the film could likely continue the stories of both Sister Irene and The Demonic Valak aka The Nun, and thus likely bring back Taissa Farmiga and Bonnie Aarons to reprise their respective roles of Irene and Valak.
Where is The Nun III coming out?
The Nun III isn’t confirmed to release in theaters at the time of writing.
As for what the story of The Nun III could be, it will like the first two films, see The Nun or Valak continue to cause more deadly mayhem. While the ending of The Nun II made it seem like Valak was banished to hell. A part of her could very likely be hiding within Maurice, as shown in the first film, where she took possession of his body. Accordingly, the third film will likely see the return of Maurice, through whom Valak will cause further havoc and destruction.
