How did Ezra Bridger die in Star Wars Rebels?
Ezra Bridger appears to die in Star Wars Rebels when he sacrifices himself to send Thrawn beyond the known parts of the galaxy.
Ezra summons a creature capable of hyperspace travel, sending Thrawn and his ship (along with Ezra) into unknown parts of the galaxy, effectively banishing himself to take down Thrawn.
This drastic move is incredibly dangerous and could easily result in the deaths of both Thrawn and Ezra. However, it now seems that neither Thrawn nor Ezra died, with both potentially returning in the Ahsoka Disney Plus series.

At the very least, Ahsoka and Sabine believe Ezra to be alive and will be searching to find him.
A popular fan theory following the initial two episodes is that the villain Marrok is actually Ezra. While this would pose a lot of questions that would need to be answered convincingly to avoid the wrath of diehard Rebels fans, it seems possible. The mysterious Force-sensitive enemy has a name that lines up with Ezra’s connection to wolves, at the very least.
Ezra’s fate will no doubt be confirmed in upcoming episodes. With Eman Esfandi playing the role of Ezra, it’s likely that this established actor will play a bigger role than simply appearing in a brief hologram.
