Many fans want to see Pat Sajak return as host of a Wheel of Fortune show, and they won’t have to wait long. After being replaced by Ryan Seacrest back in September 2024, Sajak will be making a comeback at least on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune very soon. Rumors have been swirling that the bosses at Sony Pictures have not been particularly happy with Seacrest’s performance lately, so it’s possible that Sajak might come back as host for the regular show as well.
When does Celebrity Wheel of Fortune Season 5 return with Pat Sajak?
Pat Sajak will return as the host of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune Season 5 on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at 8 PM ET.
A press release from ABC says this will mark the “Final Spin” for Sajak, suggesting that this will be the last time he will host any Wheel of Fortune program. That said, it’s still unclear who might replace Sajak as the host of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, though it’s presumed that it will go to Seacrest despite his rather full schedule.
Celebrity Wheel of Fortune Season 5 with Sajak and Vanna White actually filmed in full back in 2024, but its release was officially delayed because it would have cut into the NFL playoffs and coverage of the 2024 presidential campaign.
The first episode of the season aired on December 2, 2024 with celebrities Chance the Rapper, Dionne Warwick, and Lil Jon. Given the Christmas decorations in the background of the episode, having it release during the spring or summer would not have made much sense. Still, after it aired, the rest of Season 5 was awkwardly delayed, and it was left in limbo until now.
Other celebrities appearing in Season 5 will include Joe Manganiello, Randall Park, Matt Walsh, Josh Gad, Regina Hall, Ellie Kemper, and Tiffany Haddish.
The hour-long episodes will continue to air on Wednesdays following the premiere and be followed by the 2025 Jeopardy Masters tournament.
