A post on X from August 6 claims that a supposed source from Sports Illustrated has said that Biles will “formally announce her donation of $4M to the #HarrisWalz campaign.” It goes further to say that this sum is meant to represent $1M for the four medals the gymnast won at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This rumor has been circulated on other social media sites like TikTok as well.
However, no link is provided to any article from Sports Illustrated in the post on X. Users responding to the post who ask for a link to a source are given one to the Harris-Waltz campaign site instead by the original author.
Given that we estimate the net worth of Simone Biles to be around $16-17 million in 2024, $4 million would be an extraordinary sum from the gymnast.
