The NYT Strands July 25, 2024 puzzle has a much higher difficulty than the one yesterday. The clue for the theme this time around doesn’t connect that well with the spangram or at least isn’t as obvious as it sometimes is. There are also nine words in today’s puzzle, so finding all of them is easier said than done, as it’s harder to work out smaller words given all the possibilities in the 8 by 6 grid. Fortunately, we’ve got all of the answers for this The New York Times word game below. Here is the full solution for the Strands game for 07/25/2024.

- Spangram & Theme: SUBGENRE
- The ‘S’ in this word starts on the left edge of the grid and works its way through the middle to the right side.
- List of other word answers
- FUSION – This can be found curled up in the top-left corner of the grid.
- MODAL – This will likely be one of the hardest words to figure out on the list, since it’s not a common word. The ‘M’ you need is next to the ‘I’ in the “FUSION” answer above with the word occupying the top of the grid.
- SWING – This word goes around the top-right corner of the puzzle.
- ACID – Slightly below “SWING”, you’ll find this word, which refers to a type of jazz.
- RAGTIME – Found in the lower-left corner, this old-timey style of jazz started in the 1890s.
- BEBOP – The first ‘B’ is found on the lower edge of the grid. Perhaps anime fans of “Cowboy Bebop” will recognize this word more easily.
- COOL – This word is short and sweet, winding itself in the lower-right corner.
- FUNK – This short word is found beneath the spangram on the right side of the puzzle.
If you need a hint, you can find other words in the grid that are at least four letters long. Find enough of them and you will earn a hint that will give you all of the letters for one theme words. If you’re looking for a challenge, though, we suggest trying to get all of the answers without using a hint at all.
