Square Enix has brought online the launch trailer for the five-part episodic game Life Is Strange. The first episode of the game will be available tomorrow, January 30.
Life is Strange sets out to revolutionize story-based choice and consequence games by allowing the player to rewind time and affect the past, present and future. As Max, you must uncover the disturbing truth behind your premonitions and learn that changing the past can sometimes lead to a devastating future.
The first episode that you’ll play is titled “Chrysalis” and it’s an introduction to the world of Life is Strange. Here, Max and Chloe reunite and you will make important choices that will influence their destiny. You will see some of the short-term consequences of those choices, but bear in mind that there are also mid and long-term repercussions that will pan out over the course of the later episodes, in a butterfly effect manner.
In the game, Max Caulfield has been absent from Arcadia Bay, Oregon for five years now. Upon returning home she discovers that Rachel Amber, a fellow senior at school, has disappeared under mysterious and rather uncomfortable circumstances. While trying to uncover the truth Max reunites with an old friend, Chloe, and makes a startling discovery: Max has the power to rewind time?.
The game will be released digitally across all platforms: Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC. Each episode will cost $4.99 / £3.99 / €4.99 or they can be purchased together in the Season Pass for $19.99 / £15.99 / €19.99.
