Nacon Rig 600 Pro HS Review: Dual Wireless Headset Offers Great Value

The Nacon Rig 600 Pro HS is now available and is one of the best under $100 gaming headsets available.

What makes the multiplatform headset, and its HX counterpart (targeting Xbox rather than PlayStation), really stand out from the crowd is that it has dual wireless functionality. That means it can use both a 2.4 GHz wireless connection via an included dongle to interact with a game console and Bluetooth frequencies. There are three modes that the headset offers: Game, Bluetooth, or Dual Mode — with the latter being especially helpful as you’re able to answer phone calls and get notifications while playing.

Having used the Rig 600 Pro HS, it’s clear that it is a headset designed with the modern user in mind. One that is regularly connected to their phone and gaming consoles, oftentimes both simultaneously. As someone who is constantly getting alerts and messages I need to attend to, I found the added flexibility that Dual Mode offers really helpful.

With it coming in at under $100, the Rig 600 Pro HS has a pretty plain design but one that doesn’t sacrifice comfort. The headset itself is extremely light, weighing just 240 grams, and is designed for long gaming sessions, sitting comfortably for up to 18 hours on a full charge. I found myself extremely impressed with how long a charge lasts, being able to go through several gaming sessions before having to recharge it.

As for the sound quality, it’s also impressive for its price range featuring Dolby Atmos for Headphones surround sound. The 40-mm speakers provide a solid bass, and I never heard any distortion, even while playing at a high volume. It’s exactly what you would want from an affordable, yet quality, headset — one that provides great performance and sound at a price that doesn’t demolish your wallet.

Another nice touch is that there is a downloadable Rig 600 Pro Navigator app that is free to install and easy to use with the headset. Once you’ve synced it with the headset, you are able to seamlessly customize your sound and switch between profiles. This includes the ability to quickly turn off or on microphone monitoring, switch your own microphone gain, and access other settings.

As previously noted, the Nacon Rig 600 Pro HS headset is built around the modern player’s needs and play styles. If you want to stay connected while also being able to enhance your gaming experience without breaking the bank, then this is an easy recommendation. Comfy, affordable, and delivering a ton of value, this is a great PlayStation headset under $100.
