Activision officially announces Call of Duty: WWII
Activision has officially announced the next game in the hit Call of Duty franchise with Call of Duty: WWII! The full reveal trailer for the game is set to debut Wednesday, April 26 at 10 AM PST.
Developed by Sledgehammer Games, the game’s livestream reveal will include Sledgehammer Games co-studio heads and founders Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield. Fans will be able to tune in to get a first look at Call of Duty: WWII and get intel on the studio’s vision for the game. Acitivision previously teased that the next game in the series would return to “traditional combat.”
Sledgehammer Games previously brought us Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which remains the highest selling entry in the franchise.
Four of the first five games in the Call of Duty franchise where set against the backdrop of World War II, having since moved on to the modern era, the Vietnam war, and the far future. The most recent entry, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, sold less than half of the previous entry in the series, Call of Duty: Black Ops III (11.64 Million units sold to 26 million units sold, respectively).
