Developer Super Evil Megacorp has confirmed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate local and online co-op settings when it is released for Nintendo Switch next week. The game, which was originally released as an Apple Arcade exclusive in 2023, will also be making its way to Steam later this year.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate Has 4-Player Local Co-op
Nintendo Switch players will be able to enjoy 4-player local couch co-op from launch as they take on the Foot Clan as the titular turtles Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Leonardo. As well as couch co-op, the Switch game will also support online multiplayer for up to four players.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate will also be available on Steam later this year. While the developer didn’t confirm whether the co-op settings would be the same on this platform, the Steam product page does confirm online co-op and shared/split screen co-op for an unspecified number of players.
The new local co-op setting is not the only upgrade for Nintendo Switch players. The game has been optimized for the console and will get graphical enhancements, improved sound and controls, and better lighting and additional props for a richer environment.
The roguelike brawler takes place in NYC following the kidnapping of Splinter by arch-enemy Shredder. This causes mysterious portals to appear across the city. While April and Metalhead research the clues that the Turtles manage to find, the Turtles must take on the Foot Clan to rescue their father. No two runs will ever be the same as power-ups, room layouts, and boss modifiers are all randomized. The turtles also have their own unique powers that can be upgraded along the way.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate will launch on Nintendo Switch on July 17, 2024.
