Publisher Natsume Inc. announced the release date of Reel Fishing: Days of Summer. The latest installment in a long-running series, it releases on PC and current and last-gen consoles this fall. Natsume also shared the first screenshots of the upcoming fishing game.
What platforms are Reel Fishing: Days of Summer coming to?
Reel Fishing: Days of Summer launches on October 28 for Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC via Steam. The PS5 and Switch versions are also available for pre-order now from GameStop.
“The Reel Fishing franchise has been known for its photorealistic fishing fun for 25 years,” said Natsume President and CEO Hiro Maekawa. “We are excited to bring a bit of Summer fishing fun to brighten gamers up in October where they can experience the realistic and fun fishing experience of the original game, but with the latest and greatest specs available on the gaming systems of today.”
Reel Fishing: Days of Summer sees players joining a group of three friends on their final fishing trip of the summer. “But is there more to these fishing spots than meets the eye?” Combining anime-style characters with realistic fishing, the game features 14 fishing spots, 70 kinds of tackles and lore, and 40 fish species.
The original Reel Fishing launched for the PlayStation 1 in 1998, with the franchise coming to Nintendo with 2009’s Angler’s Dream on the Wii. However, the series wouldn’t arrive on PC until 2019’s Road Trip Adventure. October’s Days of Summer will be the first Reel Fishing game to launch on Xbox consoles.
