Astro Bot Is a ‘Full-Sized’ Game That Has No Microtransactions

Team Asobi’s upcoming Astro Bot will be a full-fledged gaming experience, according to a recently published FAQ on Sony‘s website.

What do we know about Astro Bot?

The game, which was formally shown off during Sony’s State of Play event last week, is a full-length sequel to Astro’s Playroom, which was a short game that acted as a tech demo and came pre-installed on every PlayStation 5 console to show off the console and DualSense controller’s new abilities.

On the splash page for Astro Bot on PlayStation’s website, a FAQ at the bottom of the screen has some questions that gives some insight into the game. Astro Bot is described as a “full-sized adventure” that will offer “over four times more worlds” than the original PS5 experience, as well as new powers, features, and characters to interact with.

On the topic of in-game microtransactions, Team Asobi also confirmed that there wouldn’t be any, noting that “each planet already has plenty of coins to find and spend in the Gatcha Lab” for the upcoming game.

Astro Bot is set to release on September 6, 2024, exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
