Sony has revealed the three titles coming to the PlayStation Plus Essential roster for May 2023. As noted by the PlayStation Blog, Grid Legends, Chivalry II, and Descenders are said games coming to the service on May 2. They’ll be available until June 6.
Grid Legends is the newest game of the bunch and the latest racing entry in the long-running series. This PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 title released to decent reviews and sits at a 75 average. It also just got its last piece of DLC in January, which added a few more vehicles and races.
Chivalry II is also available for PS4 and PS5 owners, but, unlike Grid Legends, it is a first-person melee-focused multiplayer game. It received relatively high praise and settled at an 82 on OpenCritic. Torn Banner Studios is still updating the title and has a long roadmap for it, too. The next big content drop is even coming out next week.
Descenders is the final game and is, appropriately, all about descending a path while riding a bike. This PS4 game originally released in 2018 and received a lot of support over the years through free updates. Reviews were somewhat mixed, but it is currently at a 74 on OpenCritic. It was also recently announced that it is getting a sequel, albeit one without a number in the title.
As is often the case, Dealabs user billbil-kun leaked the lineup just before Sony’s official announcement. The May lineup for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members has also not been revealed yet, but that is likely coming in just a couple weeks.
