Marvel has Spider-Man 2 slated for fall 2023, but it just announced another game that’s coming out much sooner. However, it’s less of a traditional video game and more of an immersive running experience, and it’s called Marvel Move. This title will be available on iOS and Android sometime in the summer through ZRX, a subscription-based fitness app.
Marvel Move is an immersive audio experience that encourages the user to keep running, walking, or jogging as the story unfolds. Workouts can also be tracked through graphs and synced online. It’s similar to Zombies, Run! and was co-created by Six to Start, which is also behind Marvel Move.
Players are the main characters in these stories and will be aided by secondary characters that “help runners meet fitness goals amid a selection of epic adventures.” Users can even enable chases to raise the intensity or tweak the time and distance of each workout. There’s also an “opportunity to enroll” in eight-week training programs designed by experts to get players fit for a 5K, 10K, half-marathon, or marathon.
Six to Start will add new stories every month, and players can further explore these narratives through emails and collectibles. According to Marvel, it will launch with five stories: “Thor & Loki: Asgard 5K Training” by Alex Acks, “X-Men: Age of Orchis” by Tini Howard, “The Hulk: Hulkville” by Matt Wieteska, “Daredevil: Terminal Degree” by Bilal Dardai, and “Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch: In Dreams” by Kim Richards.
Since it will on the ZRX app, Marvel Move will only be available through a subscription. Standard pricing for one year of Marvel Move is $74.99. Those who sign up early while supplies last will be able to get two years for $99, in addition to a free trial for Marvel Unlimited, one free month of Zombies, Run!, invitations to private Q&A livestreams, and their name in the credits. However, these benefits degrade over each tier as more people sign up, meaning that it’s not currently possible to claim a spot in the credits since that tier is full.
