A listing for some Far Cry 6 DLC leaked in September, and Ubisoft has finally officially unveiled what this expansion actually is through a trailer. Lost Between Worlds is a new fantastical adventure starring Dani Rojas and is releasing on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on December 6 for $19.99.

Lost Between Worlds places Rojas in a new reality where crystal enemies called Shardfaces and shifting otherworldly areas are the norm. These stages will support multiple player paths, new lore, and a “wide variety of unique gameplay challenges” as well as 15 different trials. The trailer itself doesn’t provide too much information, though, so it’s unclear how linear or how much like classic Far Cry it will be. There is, however, a developer stream that goes into more detail.
The officially DLC reveal also comes alongside a big update and free trial. The free trial lets players peruse the first island of the game and their progress will continue to the main game if they decide to purchase the whole title (which is currently on a deep sale for the holidays). The update, on the other hand, adds New Game Plus and new features that help completionists keep track of what they still need to do to check every box. Both the trial and update are out now.

Lost Between Worlds is coming out well over a year after Far Cry 6, which originally launched in October 2021, and about 10 months after Joseph: Collapse, the final piece of the game’s season pass. Joseph: Collapse was part of a series of roguelite expansions that let players control three different villains from the series. The open-world game also got a slew of free DLC, too, including missions centered around Danny Trejo, Rambo, and Stranger Things. There were also premium cosmetics themed around other franchises like Breaking Bad.
