Update: Illfonic confirmed the release date found in the listing. Pre-ordering digitally also unlocks early access to Slimer, a custom particle thrower and proton pack, and special colors for the game’s gear system.
Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, Illfonic’s asymmetrical multiplayer game, was slated to release in the final few months of the year when it was announced. The studio didn’t specify when, but it seems as though Amazon just has. The retailer has the game priced at $39.99 and set for an October 18 release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S (it’s also coming to PC, but there’s no physical version). It even has a listing for a more expensive collector’s edition.

As found by noted Twitter deals man Wario64, the game’s Amazon listing has all this information, which Illfonic has yet to confirm or deny. The studio is holding a livestream on August 18, which is possibly where this information was meant to originally show up. Gamescom is also next week and another place to hold such a reveal.
Pre-ordering grants access to bonuses like some cosmetics and in-game items. The collector’s edition likely has more of these kinds of goodies, but it was not detailed. It’s only priced at $69.99 and its contents have yet to be unveiled.
