Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is finally getting more courses several years after releasing at the launch of the Nintendo Switch.
A booster course pass is coming out that will include 48 courses in total for $24.99. Many of the courses will be from past Mario Kart games, even from the mobile title Mario Kart Tour. The pass will also be included in the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, which is the higher paid tier of Nintendo Switch Online. The first wave of eight tracks will release March 18, 2022. Five additional waves will be released at a later date.

“A total of 48 remastered courses from across the Mario Kart series will be coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as paid downloadable content! Eight courses will be released at a time over six waves by the end of 2023, which can all be played locally or online,” reads the official announcement. “You can enjoy the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass at no additional cost with a paid Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership or purchase it on its own for $24.99. Courses such as Wii Coconut Mall, N64 Choco Mountain, and Tour Tokyo Blur will be included in the first wave.
The announcement comes after rumors of a Mario Kart 9 were announced, although this certainly makes any announcement of a sequel unlikely for any time soon as 48 extra courses will keep players busy for quite some time.
