Aside from the unending stream of ports and remasters, Saints Row has been quiet since Saints Row IV‘s release in 2013. Voilition has finally revealed the next step in the series, which is a reboot simply titled Saints Row. The open-world game is releasing on Feburary 25, 2022 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

This Gamescom trailer set the comical tone as the new gang caused chaos in a city set in the American southwest called Santo Ileso. According to the trailer’s description, this is the biggest Saints Row.
Actor Bryce Charles, who plays the protagonist, spoke about Voilition’s willingness to go back to the drawing board and take a “fresh approach” with this one. There will be new gangs and characters, including the Boss’ crew, Neenah, Kevin and Eli. The four want to be a self-made gang and earn their own success and will have to go against the antagonistic forces like Los Panteros, The Idols, and Marshall. Los Panteros was the gang in the trailer and all three have a stronghold on the city.

The game will support seamless two-player co-op and a wide variety of new and familiar customizable guns. There will also be a ton of vehicles including hoverbikes, hoverboards, go-karts, and wingsuits. It’ll also offer the most character, vehicle, and weapon customization in the series.
