Jim Carrey will make his fourth Oscar telecast appearance as a presenter on the 76th Academy Awards show, telecast producer Joe Roth announced today.
Carrey currently is filming Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events and will be seen next in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind opposite Kate Winslet.
Also, Sting, Alison Krauss, Elvis Costello and T Bone Burnett will perform at the Awards.
Sting is nominated in the Original Song category for “You Will Be My Ain True Love” from Cold Mountain. He will perform the original song with Alison Krauss, who performs the song with him in the film.
Krauss also will perform “The Scarlet Tide” from Cold Mountain accompanied by Costello and Burnett, who are nominated for writing “The Scarlet Tide.” This is the first Oscar nomination and appearance for Costello and Burnett. Krauss, who sang “The Scarlet Tide” in the film, will be making her first Oscar show performance.
This is Sting’s third Original Song nomination and the third time he has performed at the Academy Awards. At the 74th Academy Awards, he sang “Until” from Kate and Leopold and at the 73rd Academy Awards he sang “My Funny Friend and Me” from The Emperor’s New Groove.
Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2003 will be presented on February 29, 2004, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland and will be televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5 p.m. (PST) with a half-hour arrivals segment.
