Synopsis:

“Here comes trouble! The adventure never stops as Lilo and Stitch face the challenge of their lives in Disney’s hilarious, all-new movie Leroy & Stitch. As a reward for rounding up all 625 experiments, Lilo, Stitch, Jumba, and Pleakley have been placed around the galaxy in a spot where each of them thinks they truly belong. Their lives are all shook up when the dastardly Dr. Hamsterviel breaks out of prison and forces Jumba to create a new experiment — Leroy, the evil twin of Stitch. To make matters worse, Hamsterviel soon clones the nasty little creature to form his own mischievous army. Now it’s up to Lilo to gather Stitch and the rest of the gang from the far corners of outer space to battle the legion of Leroys. Mini-Review:
If you’ve watched the Lilo & Stitch TV series, then this is required viewing for you. The film concludes Lilo’s search for all the loose experiments from that show. (On that other hand, if you haven’t watched the TV series, don’t bother with this video it won’t make a lot of sense.) Seeing as how Stitch starts the film out by leaving home and discovering a new menace, Leroy, I half expected this DVD to be the kickoff of the series in a new direction. That wasn’t the case at all. Despite all appearances and the title change, Lilo is still very much involved and by the end of the film, nothing has really changed from the beginning of the film. That’s too bad because this could have been a great re-launch of the show as a space-based adventure.
This DVD movie pretty much runs like a long version of the TV show. The animation is about the same quality, the plot is cute but shallow, and the characters don’t really develop much. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but don’t expect anything new. Kids will love it and adults may be moderately entertained, but this video is definitely for the die-hard fans that have followed all the episodes from the TV series. The battle between all the experiments and the Leroy clones at the end will make them especially happy. (On a side note, look for the names of all 626 experiments during the closing credits.)
This DVD is fairly light on the bonus features. There’s a flight simulator game that is kind of difficult for younger children, especially when Dr. Hamsterviel comes on and starts taunting you. Probably more of interest to kids is an unaired episode of the TV show featuring an experiment that glues feuding people together.
