Last week, ComingSoon.net was invited to Discovery Times Square on the day before the grand opening of “Harry Potter: The Exhibition” to talk to producers David Heyman and David Barron as well as a large percentage of the cast from the “Harry Potter” series on the impending DVD and Blu-ray release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 on April 15.
Unfortunately, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint were unavailable, but we were very excited to finally meet Michael Gambon and Robbie Coltrane a.k.a. Albus Dumbledore and Rubeus Hagrid, two of the most prominent supporting cast members from the series, as well as Warwick Davis, who is just a legend among genre fans since his debut as the Ewok Wicket in Return of the Jedi; Davis has played both Professor Filius Flitwick and the goblin Griphook going back to the very first movie. Two of the Order of the Phoenix were also on hand that day, David Thewlis (Remus Lupin) and Natalia Tena, who plays Nymphadora Tonks, as well as Luna Lovegood herself, Evanna Lynch. We also had a chance to speak to many of the Weasleys including Bonnie Wright (Ginny), James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George), Domhnall Gleeson (Bill) and Mark Williams, who plays their father Arthur.
Obviously, with so many people, we couldn’t include everything we spoke to them about, but since few of them regularly do interviews, we asked the veteran actors what got them interested in joining the “Harry Potter” family, and we also talked with them about the hair and beards and make-up they’ve had to wear to become their characters.
