Star Trek: The Compendium
Fans were disappointed Star Trek Into Darkness was released as a largely featureless edition last year. Now, Paramount is delivering a jam-packed edition with a catch: It only comes packaged with the same old Star Trek disc released in 2009.

Prom Night
Jamie Lee Curtis followed John Carpenter's Halloween with this 1980 cult classic entry in the slasher genre. Synapse Films' new disc is reportedly the best the film has ever looked on home video as it arrives on HD for the first time.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
If you're not hooked by the first third of the first season of Marvel Studios' inagural series, just give it a few more episodes. By the end of season one, you'll wonder how the Marvel Cinematic Universe made due without it. All 22 first season episodes are included along with a series of deleted scenes, featurettes, commentaries and a gag reel that offers more than its fair share of laugh-out-loud moments.

Homeland

Doctor Who: Deep Breath
Peter Capaldi makes his first full appearance as the 12th incarnation of everyone's favorite Time Lord in an extended premiere episode that cleverly comments on the long-running franchise and sets fans up for its wildly unpredictable future. The episode hits Blu-ray today with a number of special features, including the original live broadcast that revealed Capaldi's casting.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Marvel Studios' winning streak continues in 2014 with both The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy having opened to critical acclaim and major box office success. Although our full review found this week's Blu-ray release of the former a bit lacking in special features, The Winter Soldier is nevertheless one of the year's best and the film itself offers some serious replay value.

Brick Mansions
Featuring one of Paul Walker's final performances, this remake of District B13 features a script by Lucy writer/director Luc Besson. It hits Blu-ray with both a theatrical and an unrated cut of the film.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold: Season Two
This animated take on the Caped Crusader trades in the Dark Knight's grim and gritty aesthetic for a bright, colorful Batman and the result is downright incredible, offering one of the most enjoyable superhero cartoons in years. The Blu-ray set includes all 26 season two episodes and arrives courtesy of Warner Archive.
