The second season of Full Swing is streaming on Netflix worldwide. This documentary series is a collaborative effort between the OTT platform and the PGA Tour, to give the audience a closer look at the unpredictable world of professional golf.
The new season of Full Swing showcases the struggles and achievements of 13 golfers. However, this season is different than the previous one. Following the merge of the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, the landscape of professional golfing has changed drastically. Additionally, everyone involved in the sport was uncertain about its future. Season 2 focuses on this aspect, as the audience witnesses the intense drama and struggles athletes faced following this merger.
In the first episode, golf journalist Daniel Rapaport summarized the entire experience. He said, “At the start of 2023, things are much clearer. Last year, there was so much uncertainty. Now you understand who’s on which side of the battle lines. You’ve got the LIV guys, and you’ve got the PGA Tour guys. They’ve chosen their team, and now it’s product vs product.”
In Full Swing, the golfers are seen competing in the Ryder Cup, a biennial men’s competition that started almost a century ago. Interestingly, this contest does not award prize money to the winners. Instead, golfers compete in it out of pride. During the tournament, fans build an intense sporting environment by cheering for their favorite athlete as well as their home country.
The synopsis of Full Swing on IMDb reads, “Follows behind the scenes of what it takes to compete and win at the highest levels in men’s professional golf, following the PGA players through their wins and losses.”
Every golfer from Full Swing Season 2
Rory McIlroy
At 34, Rory McIlroy is currently one of the greatest golfers. He is a four-time major champion and has won the PGA Tour a whopping 24 times. According to Tudum by Netflix, McIlroy regularly criticized the Saudi-owned LIV Golf and even the athletes who joined them.
However, the PGA Tour and LIV Golf merger has affected his game. In Full Swing Season 2, he tries to redeem himself and attempts to emerge victorious at the Ryder Cup.
Justin Thomas
30-year-old Justin Thomas is a two-time major champion and has won the PGA Tour 15 times. He debuted in 2017 and quickly rose in the ranks. Even though he started his 2023 stint as the world’s 9th-ranked golfer, he meets disappointment in Full Swing season 2.
It was even uncertain if he would be selected to take part in the Ryder Cup. Fortunately, authorities chose him to compete alongside his close friend and current US team captain, Zach Johnson.
Rickie Fowler
Rickie Fowler has won the PGA Tour six times. At 35, he is one of the most well-known figures in professional golf. Moreover, Fowler is known for his outspoken nature and unique style.
Interestingly, he turned down an offer from LIV Golf and stuck with the PGA Tour. However, he has not won a single contest in a long time. So, Full Swing season 2 witnesses Fowler’s attempts to win big.
Dustin Johnson
Dustin Johnson is a two-time major champion with a record of 24 PGA Tour wins. According to Tudum by Netflix, he was the first big name to sign with LIV Golf, for which he received $150 million.

Wyndham Clark
Wyndham Clark won the US Open championship last year and the PGA Tour thrice. However, the athlete faced several problems at the start of his career, so much so that his future seemed uncertain. However, after consulting a sports psychologist in December 2022, his game improved with time.
In the latest season of Full Swing, Clark emerges victorious in several competitions and gets the opportunity to represent Team USA in the 2023 Ryder Cup.
Joel Dahmen
36-year-old Joel Dahmen won the PGA Tour once. He is a cancer survivor and has immense support from fans for his sense of humor and obsession with bucket hats.
Dahmen has a frustrating experience in the new season as he records his career-worst results. However, he works on his mental health and comes to terms with his popularity and fatherhood.
Tom Kim
The South Korean golfer is only 21 years old. Nevertheless, he has won the PGA Tour thrice and is considered a golf prodigy. He has drawn comparisons with Tiger Woods because he turned professional when he was 15 and even won two events before turning 21.
Tudum by Netflix says that Tom Kim has a polite yet defiant personality. Although he has a long way to go, Kim is capable of becoming one of the most influential players in this sport. Fun fact — his name is inspired by the famous British cartoon character, Thomas the Tank Engine.
Matt Fitzpatrick
Matt Fitzpatrick won the U.S. Open champion in 2022. He has also registered two wins on the PGA Tour. His popularity rose after his stint at the U.S. Open, and he stepped into 2023 as one of the favorites to win the Ryder Cup.
His brother, Alex Fitzpatrick, also a golfer, appears in Full Swing season 2. Here, he is shown competing in the Challenge Tour, the second-tier European golf tournament.

Justin Rose
Justin Rose has won the US Open Championship in 2013 and 11 PGA Tour. Turning pro at just 17, he struggled at the beginning of his career. Eventually, he secured the first position in the 2018 rankings.
He has appeared in the Ryder Cup six times. However, in 2023, for the first time in his career, he qualified for the contest due to a captain’s pick.
Zach Johnson
47-year-old Zach Johnson is the captain of the Ryder Cup US team. He is a two-time major champion and has won the PGA Tour 12 times.
He had the important task of selecting six Americans who failed to secure automatic qualification for the Ryder Cup. In August 2023, he revealed that Sam Burns, Rickie Fowler, Brooks Koepka, Collin Morikawa, Jordan Spieth, and Justin Thomas would be on his team.
Luke Donald
Luke Donald is the European team captain in the Ryder Cup tournament. He has five PGA Tour wins. Initially, this team was captained by Henrik Stenson. However, since he sided with LIV Golf, the role went to Donald.
Interestingly, Team Europe has not lost a single Ryder Cup since 1993. Full Swing anticipates Donald’s perseverance in maintaining this streak with pride and honor.
