Due to the ongoing global pandemic, both productions on Keanu Reeves’ highly-anticipated fourth installments to John Wick and The Matrix have been delayed. Because of this, the action sequels have been pushed back to 2022 which is a very long time before fans can get to see Reeves back in action. However, it looks like Reeves still has something up in his sleeves with USA Today bringing word that he has officially signed on to write his first-ever action comic book titled BRZRKR which will center on a protagonist that bears quite a resemblance from Reeves.
We’re thrilled to announce BRZRKR, a twelve-issue series from the iconic Keanu Reeves in his Must Read comic book writing debut alongside co-writer @mattkindt & artist @AlessandroVitti!@USATODAY has the exclusive details: https://t.co/IQZdL4P63l pic.twitter.com/rLo0MKdqgS

Created by Keanu Reeves and illustrated by Alessandro Vitti, BRZRKR will be a 12-issue limited series which will center on a warrior, who has walked a blood-soaked path across the world for centuries. In the present day, the Berzerker performs dangerous jobs for the U.S. government in exchange for the truth about his existence.
In his interview with the outlet, the John Wick actor shared new details about the comic book. “This character who was born 80,000 years ago, half man, his father’s a war god. It’s a little fantasy in reality. I had this image in my head of a guy fighting through the ages because of his father’s compulsion to violence,” but with the pathos of a man “trapped and trying to figure it out.”
When asked about a potential film adaptation of the new comic book, Reeves was very open to the idea of playing the lead character. “I’d love to play Berzerker!” Reeves says. “It’s a really fun story so if it’s not me, hopefully someone can play it.”
