Episodes 12 and 13 of Our Interpreter, starring Chen Xingxu and Victoria Song, have been the talk of the town among Chinese drama lovers since its release on Saturday, January 13, 2024. The series follows the story of Lin Xi (Victoria Song) and Xiao Yi Cheng (Chen Xingxu). The duo had dated in the past but had to part ways when Lin Xi dumped Yi Cheng to focus on her career.
Eight years later, Lin Xi is a successful translator, one of the best in her field. On the other hand, Yi Cheng is the chief technology officer at Yuyi Technology. The two ex-lovers have no choice but to keep meeting each other when Huasheng, Lin’s company, lands a deal with Yuyi Technology.
In the previous episodes, viewers saw how Xiao Yi Cheng and Lin Xi were slowly coming closer. However, things become complicated when Yi Cheng confesses his feelings to Lin and asks her out. Despite feeling the same way, Lin turns him down. Instead of accepting his defeat, he decides to keep pursuing her.
In episode 12 of Our Interpreter, to be closer to Lin Xi, Yi Cheng decides to live closer to her. He moves into the apartment next to Lin Xi’s. Although shocked at first, Lin Xi decides to go to his place and help him settle down. While sorting his belongings, Lin finds a plush toy that looks familiar to her. She remembers that she had bought the toy for Yi Cheng and is shocked to see how he still has the toy after so many years.
On the other hand, Tan Sha Sha (Lin Zi Lu) and Wei Tian’s (Wang Sen) relationship goes through turmoil. As viewers know, the two had gone to a trade exhibition together and were starting to grow closer. But Shasha learns that Wei Tian has a girlfriend. This breaks her heart, and she decides to maintain her distance.

Viewers get to meet Lin Xi’s strict side when Lin Xi scolds an employee for her sloppy translations at work. She even decides to dock the employee’s pay. The employee tries to fix her mistake on Lin Xi’s computer and accidentally deletes the whole script. Wei Tian comes to talk to Lin Xi about the docked pay, and Lin advises him not to mix personal and professional relations.
One of Lin Xi’s acquaintances asks her to look after his dog for a few days. She is hesitant at first but then agrees to it. Xiao Yi Cheng and Lin Xi come to an agreement that he will keep the dog at his place, but the latter will have to take care of it. While caring for the dog together, they share some intimate moments, and Xiao Yi Cheng grows fond of Lin Xi.
Following this, Yi Cheng’s company launches the much-awaited translator. Meanwhile, Lin Xi meets with his business partner, Tong Xin. Lin Xi is impressed when she learns about Yi Cheng’s business ethics.
But things start to complicate when his enemies shake hands and start to spread misinformation. They spread rumors that Yuyi’s translator does not meet its claims. Not only that, but they also publish fabricated information and question his personal relationships. As a result, Yi Cheng and the company face public outrage.
