GKIDS has announced that it will be bringing the anime film The Deer King to select theaters across the United States this July.

As part of a partnership between GKIDS and Fathom Events, there will be special fan preview events on July 13 (English subbed) and 14 (English dubbed). These special events will not only feature the film, but a special introduction from Director Masashi Ando as well. Masashi Ando is known for working on landmark anime films like Spirited Away, Paprika, and Your Name. This film marks his directorial debut.
Other than the preview events, The Deer King will have a limited theatrical release starting on Friday, July 15. Tickets can be purchased on the Fathom Events website and the official Deer King website. A short trailer, which you can watch below, was also released to announce the movie’s arrival in theaters.
