Saki explains she has difficulty understanding how characters feel in stories and has failed her test. With Yuta’s help, however, Saki grasps major concepts and prepares to appear on the retest. Yuta teaches her to memorize the characters and their feelings if she cannot relate to them.
At school, Yuta asks Maaya Narasaka for advice on how to teach Saki. Maaya advises Yuta to make her listen to background music while studying. Moreover, she calls Yuta a good brother.
Later, Yuta meets Shiori Yomiuri at work. Shiori tells him he is the only one who knows all about her. As Yuta prepares to leave, Shiori playfully requests him to stay. Yuta agrees to stay but asks for her advice on helping Saki study efficiently.
Shiori helps by sharing background music with him, which he later shares with Saki. The step-siblings talk about Shiori before Saki retires to her room.
