5 Manhwa That Deserves an Anime Adaptation

Following the resounding success of Solo Leveling, fans have been given a glimmer of hope to see their favorite Manhwa animated. Thanks to platforms like Webtoon, Manhwa’s popularity has been growing in recent years. It can now effectively stand shoulder-to-shoulder with its Japanese counterparts (manga).

Some Manhwa haven’t been adapted because the authors think some themes are too heavy to put in anime. However, the rest of them aren’t animated because the Manhwa is still being released. There are many Manhwa that deserve their own time under the sun. However, only a handful of them have enough source material and fanbase to get an anime adaptation. With that said, here are five Manhwa that deserve their own anime adaptations.

Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint

With the popularity of the Isekai genre, Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint would be a breath of fresh air for the genre. The story follows the life of average-salary man Kim Dokja, who has no real aspirations. He spends his free time reading his favorite web novel, “Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse.” As its only reader, he earns the manuscript after its conclusion.

Suddenly, the world starts to merge with that of the novel. Now armed with knowledge, Dokja must do all he can to save as many people as possible. After the web novel finished last year, the cries for an anime adaptation of the popular Manhwa have been louder. This has led numerous fans to vent their frustrations on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The Greatest Real Estate Developer

The greatest real estate developer is more than your typical Isekai story. It is a hilarious Isekai story that would even give KonoSuba a run for its money. The story follows Kim Suho, an engineering student who gets reincarnated into a fantasy novel. He’s reborn as Lloyd Frontera, a nobleman who loves to drink and whose family is in a mountain of debt. Using his knowledge of past lives, Suho designs inventions to avert the terrible future waiting for him. While Lloyd’s reactions have been incredible to see in the Manhwa, fans wonder how their hilarious MC would look in an anime.

SSS-Class Suicide Hunter

While Solo Leveling was the perfect headliner for the hunter genre, SSS-Class Suicide Hunter would be the perfect encore. Although the anime adaptation could prove difficult to watch due to its premise, it has an immaculate storyline and characters that many fans would love to appreciate. It follows the story of Kim Gong-ja, who acquires a skill to obtain the powers of anyone who kills him. He uses that to lead the rest of the hunters to clear the tower. While the source material isn’t complete, the story basically has enough material to adapt to some seasons.

Villains are Destined to Die

Villainess anime has recently been on the rise, with titles like Doctor Elise and Villainess Level 99 leading the charge. Villains are Destined to Die follows the story of our MC, a hardcore gamer obsessed with other games. However, she finds herself reincarnated into the body of Penelope Eckhart, the villainess destined to die at the hands of everyone, as all roads lead to her death. Now, she must use her pretty face and in-game knowledge to basically win the hearts of the male characters. However, this proves to be easier said than done.

The popular story takes place in a world secretly controlled by awakened people who possess supernatural abilities and live among humans. It follows a young boy named Jiwoo, a known cat lover, who picks up a stray cat on his way home. Unbeknownst to him, the cat is a powerful awakened named Kayden, who is injured and must hide out as a cat to survive. After discovering that Jiwoo is awakened too, Kayden trains Jiwoo and also introduces him to a new world.

Manhwa readers have rallied fans of My Hero Academia and One Punch Man to express their desire for an anime adaptation of Eleceed.
