Oblivion Battery episode 7 recap

Todo in Oblivion Battery (Photo Credit: MAPPA)

The episode starts with Todo telling everyone he has yips, which startles the group. Kei asks what it means, and Chihaya explains it to him. Kei suggests they practice to help Todo recover from his slump and provides some strong arguments to support his case. Despite Todo’s initial reluctance, he accepts their help.

The next day, they meet for practice and try to help Todo recover from yips. Although he tries to throw the ball several times, he can’t seem to get it right. Kiyomine tells him he can’t do it because he isn’t trying hard enough, to which Todo sluggishly agrees. Kei suggests he throw a one-hop until he can accurately throw it straight. Despite being an amateur technique, the one-hop helps Todo gradually fix his form.

Todo asks them why they would go this far for him, but Kiyomine simply tells him he is their shortstop, which won’t change. Chihaya helps him practice one more time, and it yields excellent results. The episode ends with Todo having a tearful meeting with one of his former teammates.
