The importance of devil fruits cannot be overestimated in a vast and dangerous world like One Piece. Only a few characters are lucky enough to obtain devil fruits, and only a handful find the right one compatible with their style. Caribou, One Piece resident swindler, is one of these lucky characters. He obtained the Numa Numa no mi, a logia-type devil fruit, which is a true representation of his questionable character.
What does Numa Numa No Mi do?
The Numa Numa no Mi is a Logia-type devil fruit that allows its users to create and transform their bodies into mud. Like his devil fruit, Caribou is a slippery character, and everyone will agree that the devil fruit is a perfect fit for him.
The Numa Numa no Mi can also be used to create bottomless pits that are almost impossible to escape. This was seen on Fishman Island as Caribou trapped multiple mermaids in the swamp.
The swamp acts as a storage space, which allows the user to store many items inside their body. Like most Logia fruit holders, the user cannot be hit or sliced, as the fruit makes them intangible. However, the fruit has a glaring weakness. The user cannot return to their human form if they are trapped somewhere their normal body cannot fit in. This is seen during Caribou’s battle with Franky, as the straw hat trapped him inside a barrel.
It also boasts no reliable offence, as its main ability would be drowning its opponents in the mud. However, the situational advantages are hard to overlook. For instance, if a weapon specialist possessed the fruit, he could use his body to store an endless supply of weapons. However, like most Logia-type devil fruits, the Numa Numa no mi is a precious fruit to have.
