The official website of the Monogatari anime series made a peculiar post, igniting intrigue among the fans of the series. However, this isn’t the first time something like this has occurred.
Earlier also, the production studio posted cryptic alphabets to hint towards the anime adaptations of light novel sequels to the Monogatari series. NISIO ISIN wrote and VOFAN illustrated the light novel on which this anime series is based.

Monogatari Series: What can anime fans expect?
The official X handle of the Monogatari series announced a new project. Nothing was mentioned except for the letter “Y” written on a pink background. The announcement was posted on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, with a countdown that followed into the next day.
Interestingly, audiences received similar posts back in January. The alphabets mentioned were “M” and “O.” These cryptic announcements are pretty exciting as they build anticipation for whatever awaits the viewers. Those two posts were related to the anime adaptations of Off Season and Monster Season.
Off Season consists of four volumes: Orokamonogatari, Wazamonogatari, Nademonogatari, and Musubimonogatari. The first installment of the series will receive an anime this year. Meanwhile, not a lot of information is available at the moment. Furthermore, Monster Season consists of six volumes. They are Shinobumonogatari, Shinomonogatari Part 2, Ougimonogatari, Shibumonogatari, Yoimonogatari, and Amarimonogatari.
Studio Shaft will produce the Off Season and Monster Season Monogatari anime series.
The Monogatari light novel is quite popular. The plot revolves around the mystery genre, with occasional instances of comedy. It is VOFAN’s most acclaimed work. Bakemonogatari was the first installment of the series, released in 2006.
The story follows Koyomi Araragi, who gains supernatural powers after an older man saves him from a vampire. Araragi decides to stay away from unwanted attention and tries to lead a decent life. He stumbles upon girls who possess supernatural powers as well, and thus starts a chain of intriguing events.
