Adult Swim broadcast the Ninja Kamui episode 3 on February 24, 2024, at 12 a.m. ET, and it stayed true to Sunghoo Park’s legacy of epic action. Along with unraveling old mysteries and introducing new characters, including the Reaper, the episode was as gruesome as ever.
The episode kicks off with another scene of bloodshed, wherein a new, edgy, character is introduced. Later, the ninja boss, in a conversation with this new character, reveals that those who disobey him and his organization are “exiles”. Joe Higan is one of such exiles who the boss has been trailing for a long time.
Moreover, he also expresses the urgency to eliminate all of these exiles immediately. Hence, he seeks the new, unnamed, character’s help. While the assassin gushes over Higan’s skills and eliteness as a ninja, he seems amused while thinking about tackling him.
The boss then reveals that Higan was killed by the ninjas before, only for him to come back to life using a secret ninja art. Immediately after fooling around with the thought of assassinating Higan, the unnamed assassin inquires the boss about the Reaper.
Ninja Kamui Episode 3: Are Mike and Emma Higan’s allies?
The focus shifts to the Reaper named Zai, who is tasked with eliminating the exiled ninjas. In a battle against one of such exiled ninjas, the Reaper effortlessly kills the enemy, indicating that he poses a great threat to the protagonist as well as all the exiled ninjas.
The corrupt ninja organization’s boss then reveals that he has forbidden Zai, the Reaper, to engage in a battle against Higan. Though the scene cuts to another scene featuring Mike Morris from the FBI, the boss’s concerns add depth to the narrative.
Elsewhere, Mike argues with a fellow officer about continuing with Higan’s case. Mike, then, visits Higan who seems to be having a difficult time reminiscing about his dead family. While Mike teams up with Higan, he warns him that this alliance is temporary and that Mike would have to arrest Higan when the circumstances call for it.
After stating that, with his position, he feels responsible for protecting the citizens of the country. Moreover, Mike also calls Emma, his coworker, for help, who willingly shows up to help Higan on the case. Hence, it is safe to say that, though temporarily, Mike and Emma are on Higan’s side, even if it is to merely ensure the safety of the population from the assassins.
Ninja Kamui Episode 3: What are AUZA’s intentions?
While Mike’s integrity and feeling of dutifulness towards his nation makes him team up with a sketchy ninja as he ignores his colleagues’ advice to back off from the case, AUZA seems to be the exact opposite.
The episode reveals that AUZA is a multinational organization responsible for crafting military weapons and technological equipment. However, their motives remain ulterior with their collaboration with the non-exiled ninjas.
Later, Emma arrives and reveals the extraordinary research space that her car secretly provides. While digging dirt up on AUZA, it is found that whoever tries to expose AUZA, mysteriously dies, including politicians.
Towards the end, the non-exiled ninjas’ boss meets with AUZA’s founder, who excuses himself for using ninjas to his advantage. Following this, a ninja attacks Mike, Emma, and Higan, leading to another epic action sequence with stunning choreography. While Higan wins the battle, he receives a mysterious phone call at the end, which, fans suspect, could be from Higan’s Ally.
