Though very few details have been unveiled involving this new team-up, this isn’t the first time that Star Wars has been adapted into a form of anime. Last year’s Disney+ series Star Wars Visions saw the iconic franchise reinterpreted by multiple anime studios, including Studio Trigger and Science SARU. Each episode was an independent story that featured an entirely different visual style than the last.
On the other hand, Studio Ghibli is one of the most beloved film studios in the animation industry. Founded by Hayao Miyazaki, Toshio Suzuki, and Isao Takahata, Ghibli is the animation studio behind anime classics like Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and Howl’s Moving Castle.
