Boruto: Next Generations Episode 261 Recap
Naruto assigned Kawaki to guard Kae Yukiwari, a princess from the Land of Bamboo. Her life is in danger because her father, the king, says that assassins are targeting her. Kawaki enrolls in the academy. Meanwhile, Kae only knows she’s going on an exchange. After Kawaki introduces himself on the first day of school, his classmates find him weird or scary. Meanwhile, everyone is interested in Kae. To move forward with his mission, Kawaki attempts to ask Kae to be his friend. However, the others think he’s hitting on her. After arriving home, Himawari tells Boruto about Kawaki’s strange behavior.
Eventually, she picks up that Kawaki probably wants to be friends with Kae. She tells him Kae likes romance novels, so that would be a topic to discuss. More people begin to surround Kae, including the media. Kawaki notices Kae won’t have any quiet time due to this. Eiki responds to Kawaki and agrees with his statement but says it’s because of Kawaki’s character. During a class, Eiki challenges Kawaki to spar with him. Kawaki declines, saying he doesn’t fight with people weaker than him. Eiki feels insulted and tries to attack Kawaki, but Kawaki effortlessly avoids his kicks. After getting checked at the infirmary, Eiki looks for a tool in the storage room to help him defeat Kawaki and impress Kae.
On a rooftop, Kae is talking to herself, saying how tiring it is to keep up with her princess-like personality. After stating interest in hanging out with Kawaki, he suddenly appears, surprising her. They talk and get along. However, Eiki shows up and tries to use a Summoning Scroll. He fails, and Kawaki defeats the monster. After the incident, Kae agrees to be his friend. Later, Himawari finds out about Kawaki’s secret mission after listening in on his conversation with Naruto at home.
