Meet the adorable dog Bella with the newly released official trailer for Sony Pictures‘ A Dog’s Way Home, based on New York Times best-selling author W. Bruce Cameron’s novel of the same name. The film is scheduled to premiere early next year on January 11, 2019. Check out the trailer below!
A Dog’s Way Home chronicles the heartwarming adventure of Bella, a dog who embarks on an epic 400-mile journey home after she is separated from her beloved human, Lucas, an aspiring med student and VA hospital volunteer. Bella touches the lives of many during her unwavering quest; from an orphaned mountain lion cub to a homeless veteran down on his luck, Bella brings joy and comfort to everyone she meets with her unique spirit and faith
The cast includes Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) as the voice of Bella, Ashley Judd as Lucas’ mother, Jonah Hauer-King as Lucas along with Alexandra Shipp (The Dark Phoenix), Wes Studi and Edward James Olmos (Mayans MC).
The film was directed by Charles Martin Smith from a screenplay co-written by Cameron and Cathryn Michon. Yu Dong, Jeffrey Chan, Robert J. Dohrmann, T.D. Jakes and Derrick Williams are the executive producers along with Gavin Polone who serves as producer.
Cameron was also the author of the best-selling book A Dog’s Purpose which was adapted into a film with Cameron and Michon also writing the film’s script. The movie premiered in 2017 starring Josh Gad (Frozen 2), Dennis Quaid and KJ Apa. A sequel is now in development with Quaid and Gad set to reprise their roles. The sequel titled A Dog’s Journey is also set to be released next year.
