A Teacher is a timely story described as an exploration of consent, abuse of power, victimhood and the inevitable consequences that happen throughout an entire community after the forbidden relationship was exposed.
A Teacher was written and produced by the film’s director Fidell which had its premiere at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival. Fidell will also direct and pen the series adaptation. Mara will be the series’ lead character that was portrayed by Lindsay Burdge in the film.
Back in 2014, the TV adaptation was supposed to be developed by HBO but Fidell ultimately decided to transfer the project to FX Productions. Fidell is also set to executive produce the potential series along with Mara.
