Deadline reports that the upcoming short story collection Roar from Love, Rosie author Cecelia Ahern is being developed into a TV series. Nicole Kidman‘s Blossom Films will be teaming up together with Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories and Theresa Park to produce the series adaptation.
The untitled series will be based on Ahern’s Roar, a short story collection that has a total of 30 stories. Each story follows a woman exploring a different absurd contradiction or issue in her life. The book will be published this year in November in the UK through Harper Collins UK. It will be release in the US in April 2019 by Grand Central Publishing.
The co-creators of the Emmy-nominated series GLOW Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch (Orange Is the New Black, Nurse Jackie) have signed on to be the show’s showrunners and are also set to executive produced. Ahern’s Greenlight Go Production Label will be producing the series. Per Saari, Steve Hutensky, Kidman, Papandrea and Ahern will also be Roar‘s executive producers.
Kidman is currently busy with other projects like Big Little Lies Season 2 which she stars and executive produced in. She will next be seen in the upcoming films like: Boy Erased starring alongside Russel Crowe and Lucas Hedges; Aquaman playing the role of Queen Atlanna; and crime thriller film Destroyer which is directed by Karyn Kusama. All of those films are scheduled to be release later this year.
