The Hollywood Reporterhas learned that Hulu has ordered the pilotReprisal, a revenge drama from The Handmaid’s Tale producer Warren Littlefield.
Reprisal is described as a hyper-kinetic revenge tale following a relentless femme fatale who, after being left for dead, leads a vengeful campaign against a bombastic gang of gearheads.
The pilot is being written by Josh Corbin (StartUp), who will as co-executive produce alongside Barry Jossen. Jonathan Van Tulleken (Movie 43) is set to direct the project.
Reprisal comes from A+E Studios production and The Littlefield Company.
If the pilot is ordered to series it would join Hulu’s other dramas including Looking for Alaska, Little Fires Everywhere, The Looming Tower, and the Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning series, The Handmaid’s Tale.
Last month, The Handmaid’s Tale was renewed for a third season following its record-breaking season two premiere. The series, adapted from the best-selling novel by Margaret Atwood, stars Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley, Alexis Bledel, Ann Dowd, Max Minghella, Madeline Brewer, O-T Fagbenle and Amanda Brugel.
