Originally planned for release this December, Marc Forsters’s big screen adaptation of Max Brooks’ World War Z was, earlier this year, bumped to June 21, 2013 to accommodate extensive reshoots. Now, The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Prometheus and “LOST” writer Damon Lindelof has been brought aboard for some rewriting.
The film, set to star Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, Matthew Fox and David Morse, revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop the Zombie pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.
The original script was drafted by Matthew Michael Carnahan.
