Maggie Gyllenhaal is in talks to play a Secret Service agent in Roland Emmerich’s White House Down, Deadline reports. She’d join Channing Tatum and (also in talks) Jamie Foxx in the big screen action thriller.
The film, written by James Vanderbilt (The Amazing Spider-Man), is set up at Sony Pictures and is said to feature a para-military takeover of the White House.
Gyllenhaal, best known for films like Secretary and The Dark Knight, recently starred in Hysteria.
Mythology Entertainment partners Bradley Fischer, Vanderbilt and Laeta Kalogridis will produce White House Down, planned to hit theaters on November 1, 2013.
