As he did earlier this year, Christian Bale’s Batman graces the cover of the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, though this time he’s joined by Anne Hathaway’s Selina Kyle/Catwoman. The outlet managed to get some new information about Christopher Nolan’s highly-anticipated The Dark Knight Rises from cast and crew members like Nolan and Tom Hardy, who plays the film’s chief antagonist, Bane.
?The audience mustn?t be too concerned about the mumbly voice,? Hardy reassures fans, adding that part of the influence on the sound is Bane’s comic-book-loyal Caribbean upbringing. “As the film progresses, I think you?ll be able to tune to its setting.?
Hathaway’s take on Kyle, meanwhile, is described as being a bit more on the villainous side herself and the character is referred to as a “world-class criminal”.
?She has a very strong way of protecting herself and those she cares about,” says Nolan, “which implies an underlying darkness.?
Also starring Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard and Juno Temple, The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters on July 20th and has officially been given a PG-13 rating for intense sequences of violence and action, some sensuality and language.
