Infinity War Set Photos Feature Paul Rudd, Doctor Strange in Trouble

POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD!

Production continues on Avengers: Infinity War and two batches of set photos from Just Jared show off another returning Avenger and a spoilery showdown.

The first batch of photos confirm the return of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man, for the ensemble film. Though we don’t see him suiting up just yet, he seems to be running toward whatever action requires a pint-sized hero. It’s also worth pointing out that Rudd is already in town for the filming of Ant-Man and the Wasp which begins soon, so his scenes for Infinity War will probably be completed within the next week.

The second batch is where potential spoilers are involved, as we see Benedict Cumberbatch’s Dr. Strange being attacked by an actor in a motion capture suit. Upon closer inspection, you can see a name tag on the mo-cap suit that reads “EB-MAW,” which comic readers will recognize as Ebony Maw, one of Thanos’ Black Order. It’s pretty clear that he’s attacking Strange to retrieve the Time Stone from inside the Eye of Agamotto, so the big guy can finally assemble the Infinity Gauntlet. We wouldn’t worry too much about Strange’s health though, he’s set for a sequel to his 2016 debut feature already.

Confirmed cast members for the film so far include Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scalett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olson, Chadwick Boseman, Sebastian Stan, Don Cheadle, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Pom Klementieff, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Sean Gunn, Tom Holland, Josh Brolin, and Paul Rudd.

Filming officially started on Monday, January 23, 2017 for the Avengers sequel, which sees Earth’s Mightiest Heroes teaming up with the Guardians of the Galaxy to take on Brolin’s Thanos.

Directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who return after Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War, are directing both Avengers: Infinity War and the untitled fourth film, which will be filmed back-to-back in Atlanta and are written by screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Both films will also be shot entirely with IMAX cameras.
