A series about firefighters is joining ABC’s ShondaLand lineup
Although ABC Television Network earlier today confirmed the upcoming end of Shonda Rhimes‘ hit series scandal Scandal, they now bring word of a new, still-untitled entry set to join the ShondaLand lineup. The drama will follow a group of heroic firefighters.

Set in a Seattle firehouse, the latest ShondaLand series arrives from the executive producers of Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder. From the captain to the newest recruit, we follow these brave men and women as they risk their lives and their hearts both in the line of duty and off the clock.
“No one can interweave the jeopardy firefighters face in the line of duty with the drama in their personal lives quite like Shonda,” says ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey, “and ‘Grey’s’ signature Seattle setting is the perfect backdrop for this exciting spinoff.”
The ShondaLand small screen universe began in 2005 with the medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. The series is set to conclude its 13th season this week and has been already been renewed for a fourteenth year. It ranks as ABC’s No. 1 show among Adults 18-49, and among the Top 10 series on television. It’s the No. 3 broadcast drama and, on its midseason return in January, Grey’s Anatomy marked its most watched telecast overall since September 2014 and hit its highest young adult number since September 2015 – since 9/25/14 and 9/24/15, respectively.
Stacy McKee will write the script for the new ShondaLand project and will also executive produce alongside Rhimes and Betsy Beers. The series will be produced by ABC Studios.
