Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale signs on for Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare
Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale has signed on to star in the upcoming Blumhouse Productions picture Truth or Dare, according to Variety. Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2, Never Back Down) is set to direct the film. The script was written by Wadlow, Chris Roach (Non-Stop) and Jillian Jacobs. The story it’s based on is by Michael Reisz, Wadlow, Roach and Jacobs.
The story is about, “a college student in Mexico who is conned into playing a supernatural version of Truth or Dare. The game doesn’t stop and follows her back home.” Truth or Dare will be produced by Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum and Couper Samuelson. Wadlow and Roach will also serve as executive producers. Blumhouse Productions has had a number of successful films in recent days, including Split and Get Out, as well as the Paranormal Activity and Insidious franchises.
Lucy Hale is known for her role as Aria Montgomery in the Freeform series Pretty Little Liars and won a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Cable TV Actress in 2014. The show is heading into its final season this April. Hale has a pilot at The CW and will appear in the film Dude, coming out with Alexandra Shipp. Dude was directed by Olivia Milch. Hale also released her first solo album in 2014 called “Road Between.” She’s no stranger to horror, having appeared in 2011’s Scream 4 and the 2009 TV film Fear Island. Wadlow is also known for directing True Memoirs of an International Assassin and Non-Stop.
