Charlie Sheen has signed on to headline A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charlie Swan III, the second feature film from Roman Coppola, following his 2001 debut, CQ. Variety has the news, saying that Jason Schwartzman will also star.
Sheen infamously departed his successful sitcom, “Two and a Half Men,” earlier this year with a highly publicized breakdown. Coppola’s script is said to somewhat mirror Sheen’s current public image, casting him as a famous graphic designer whose life takes a nosedive after his girlfriend leaves him.
Sheen is also expected to return to TV with a sitcom based on the 2003 comedy Anger Management.
Schwartzman’s role in the project has not been announced, but he’s no stranger to Coppola. In addition to being cousins, the pair have worked together time and again, including in CQ and, coming up, Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom, which Coppola scripted alongside Anderson.
