Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron will star together in a new comedy, Flarsky
Seth Rogen and Charlize Theron are teaming up for an original comedy project titled Flarsky, Deadline reports. The script, which arrives from The Interview‘s Dan Sterling, will see Rogen play a down-on-his-luck journalist who, in an effort to overcome his personal depression, decides to win the heart of his childhood crush. The crush in question is Theron’s character. While she was formerly the journalist’s babysitter, she has since risen to heights of success and is now one of the most powerful women on Earth. Jonathan Levine, who previously worked with Rogen on 50/50 and The Night Before, is set to helm.
Seth Rogen, who starred last year in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising and who lent his voice to Sausage Party and Kung Fu Panda 3, can next be seen in The Disaster Artist, James Franco‘s look at the making of Tommy Wiseau‘s The Room. Charlize Theron, meanwhile, recently starred in The Huntsman: Winter’s War and The Last Face and lent her voice to LAIKA’s Kubo and the Two Strings. This summer, she’s headlining David Leitch’s action thriller Atomic Blonde and is going toe to toe with Vin Diesel in The Fate of the Furious.
A Point Grey, Denver & Delilah and Good Universe production, Flarsky will be produced by A.J. Dix, Evan Goldberg, Beth Kono, and James Weaver alongside Rogen and Theron. Sterling will serve as executive producer alongside Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane. Alex McAtee will be overseeing for Point Grey with Erin Westerman doing so for Good Universe.
Look for cameras to roll on Flarsky this August and check back for updates on the production as they become available.
