Will Reiser is reteaming with longtime collaborators and filmmakers Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and Jonathan Levine to develop a feature comedy entitled Jamaica. Reiser brought the original idea to Mandate Pictures which has the project on the fast track. Much as he did with 50/50, Reiser will once again draw from his real life experiences, as the script will be loosely based on a vacation he took to Jamaica with his grandmother when he was 14.
Reiser shared, “This is a story that I’ve long wanted to tell. It’s something of a passion project for me, and I couldn’t be more excited to have found it a home at Mandate.”
Will Reiser (50/50) will write the screenplay with Jonathan Levine (50/50, The Wackness) attached to direct. The comedy will be produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg through their Point Grey Pictures production banner. Will Reiser, Point Grey’s James Weaver, and Mandate’s Nathan Kahane and Nicole Brown will executive produce.
